Automated Mortars

When assaulting a stronghold or in an ambush situation why not soften up the defenses, and cause panic and mayhem on the battlefield by setting up mortar positions giving long distance support while keeping the ability to maintain the frontline with an extra body. I think all Major factions should have their own mortar company to maintain balance but it must be researched and constructed via the normal system.
